Description

The first ever official DiscGolfPark course designed and installed by a Canadian in Canada. This course was a complex build that incorporated sustainable forestry techniques and quality disc golf design practices. It was made more complex by the ongoing shortages and supply issues during Covid. In the end the course is solid and the player base has responded positively. There are a variety of great lines and shots that will challenge everyone who plays here. The tree canopy is beautiful and every season will offer a different experience for the players. This course has the potential to be something very special.

Hole 2 is gem. The slightly elevated tee pad starts in the open but quickly forces players to pick a line as they start their decent into the woods.

Hole 7, 8, and9 all play under deep canopies of trees. Each of these holes have a multitude of lines to pick from. One of the best parts of this course is that almost every hole offers a wide variety of shots. The course ends with another gem on hole 18. A great mix of hard woods and soft woods line the edges of the fairway. Experienced players can hunt for birdies (and aces!) on every hole, but most players will be happy to finish under par at the end of their round.

Not only is the course great but the Campus on Cape Breton University (CBU) is lovely space to spend the day. There is a food court in the parking lot very close to hole 1. For students who are considering their post secondary education maybe this disc golf course can help guide you.

Cape Breton is proving that it will soon become a powerhouse for disc golf as well as traditional golf!
