Martin Rasch

Martin Rasch

Biography

Martin designed his first golf hole in the eighties. Design has always been at the top of his mind, and as much as he enjoys good design, he suffers when he finds the design lacking. After transitioning from ball golf to disc golf in 2009 he has been involved in course development, co-designing and redesigning layouts over the years. His first sole credit as a designer came in 2021.

Martin has been involved in the growth of the sport since day one, and apart from working with disc golf design he is the national team captain and an avid Tournament director, with over 100 tournaments under his belt.

When it comes to design, Martin is a firm believer in first impressions. The eye is faster than the mind, and what catches the eye is always a good starting point. Courses should be safe, both for players and others using the area. They should be varied, fun to play, cater to the intended target group and have something to offer for everybody. On top of that they require easy access, brief walks between the holes and at least one downhill drive.

As a player, Martin is recovering from an injury. His goal is to once again rejoin the top tier in Sweden, although this time around in the age protected divisions.
