The Third DiscGolfPark World of Finland
Finland, the country where the DiscGolfPark concept was born, has its next flagship disc golf destination. Espoo DiscGolfPark World, a brand-new disc golf center in the Ämmäsmäki area of Espoo, opened its first two 18-hole courses on July 26, 2026 — the first step toward one of the most ambitious disc golf projects Europe has ever seen.
A DiscGolfPark World in the capital region
A DiscGolfPark World is more than a single course. It is a complete disc golf center built around multiple courses designed for different skill levels — from beginner-friendly layouts that introduce newcomers to the sport, all the way to championship-level courses that challenge the best players in the world.
When fully completed in 2029, Espoo DiscGolfPark World will feature four separate 18-hole courses across two distinct areas — the open, park-like Park Course (Blue & Red) and the wooded Forest Course (Yellow & Black) — plus two 9-hole beginner courses at the Arena Course (Green & White). On top of that, two additional 18-hole hybrid layouts (Orange & Purple) will combine holes from the Park and Forest areas, bringing the total to eight playable layouts.
The first phase opened in July 2026 with the two Park Course layouts. Nuori Espoo Park Red is the more approachable of the pair — a versatile test for club-level players, with 2,419 meters of fairways, par 67, seven par 3s, nine par 4s and two par 5s, an average hole length of 134 meters and an AA1 course classification. Ramirent Park Blue is its championship-level counterpart: 3,174 meters, par 68, with seven par 3s, eight par 4s and three par 5s, an average hole length of 176 meters and an AAA1 classification. Fittingly for a sport known for giving new life to unused land, the Park area is built on a former landfill site that closed around the year 2000 — terrain that drains exceptionally well and stays playable year-round, even after heavy rain.
Built by the community, backed by the city
Behind the project is Espoo Flyers ry, a disc golf club founded in December 2024 specifically to build, develop and maintain the new center. The club’s lead designer and project manager is Mikko Tanska, a well-known figure in the Finnish disc golf community.
The project began with a conversation between Tanska and the City of Espoo in autumn 2024. The city, which owns the land, required a long-term operator for the area — and rather than settle for a single new course, the team decided to think bigger and build an entire disc golf center. The City of Espoo is the project’s largest supporter, and the development is co-funded by the European Union.
The center operates on a pay-to-play model, with course fees funding paid staff during the summer months — a professional maintenance approach familiar from Finland’s most celebrated courses. Every round on the Park courses is booked as a tee time through the Disc Times app: the first round of the day costs €10, and a season pass covering the rest of 2026 costs €60. Espoo Flyers members get 30% off all playing fees.
Access remains affordable and inclusive. From August 10, weekday morning tee times are free (Mon–Thu, 8:00–10:50), though a booking is still required — at €0. Players born in 2011 or later can apply for a free season pass, meaning everyone 15 and under can play the center’s premium courses at no cost.
Easy to reach, ready to host
Espoo DiscGolfPark World sits just six minutes’ drive from the junction of the Turku motorway and Ring Road III, with 45 paved parking spaces on site. Public transport works too: bus line 243 stops 600 meters from the center.
The location in Finland’s capital region, combined with a full range of courses from beginner to championship level, positions Espoo DiscGolfPark World to become both a local community hub and a destination for disc golf tourism — following in the footsteps of Finnish DiscGolfPark World destinations that have proven how much value a world-class disc golf center can bring to its region.
